1. One pretty frightening journey in Bangkok (where the only cyclists are rickshaw drivers) but quite a bit around Chiang Mai, which is much better for cycling. Still a lot of traffic though, and you have to get used to the fact that red traffic lights can often mean go, people usually drive on the left (but there are some roads here in Chiang Mai where you find yourself driving on the right due to a weird one way ssytem) and dogs will sleep in the middle of the road and expect cars, bikes, tuk tuks and anything else to go around them.
